Several Lowcountry bridges remain closed Wednesday morning

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A number of bridges throughout the Lowcountry remain closed Wednesday morning due to the winter weather.

Officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department have shut down the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and the Ben Sawyer Bridge.

In addition, the Don Holt Bridge and the Isle of Palms Connector have also been closed.

Authorities announced through Twitter the closing of the Ravenel Bridge a little before 8 p.m. on Tuesday. According to officials, the bridge was shutdown due to ice. The Mt. Pleasant twitter account tweeted around 6 a.m. that all bridges were still closed.
