Charleston County Gov't: Authorities re-open Don Holt bridge

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have re-opened the Don Holt Bridge after shutting it down Tuesday night due to the winter weather, according to officials with Charleston County government.

Officials released the following information at 3:32 p.m.:

As of 3:30 p.m. today, January 29, the Don Holt Bridge is open to public commuter traffic. This was a collective effort by Charleston County Government, the Charleston County Sheriff's office, City of Charleston, and the Town of Mount Pleasant. Citizens are advised to use extreme caution and drive safely across the bridge. Finally, the Don Holt will only remain open as long as conditions don't dictate otherwise. Law enforcement will close the bridge if travel becomes unsafe for the public. The road conditions across Charleston County will continue to be monitored by law enforcement and emergency personnel.
