A freezing rain advisory has been issued for Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester and Colleton counties until midnight.

The National Weather Service says areas of freezing rain and freezing drizzle may produce additional icy patches on area roads through this evening, making travel difficult at times.

Locations impacted include St. George, Summerville, Moncks Corner, Edisto Beach, Charleston, Daniel Island and the Naval Weapons Station.

According to the NWS, trace amounts of ice accumulation are possible on exposed surfaces, including cars and elevated bridges.

The NWS is reporting that freezing rain or drizzle will continue moving off the Atlantic Ocean through early to mid evening before tapering off.
