The State of the Union address, Amanda Knox's conviction and federal prosecutors seeking the death penalty against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev all made headlines this week.

(RNN) - President Barack Obama gave the State of the Union address on Tuesday. He mentioned making this year a "year of action," including using executive orders to help further his plans.

An Italian appeals court convicted former exchange student Amanda Knox and her ex-boyfriend on murder charges. They are accused of killing Meredith Kercher, Knox's roommate, in 2007. They were convicted in 2009 but acquitted on appeal in 2011. Knox currently lives in Seattle.
