Investigators arrest Mount Pleasant fugitive in Charlotte

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say an 18-year-old fugitive wanted in Mount Pleasant was arrested by law enforcement agencies in Charlotte this past weekend.

Officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department say Calvin Malone Vanderhorst was captured in Charlotte by members of the Charleston US Marshals Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police say Vanderhorst was taken into custody without incident.

According to police, Vanderhorst was wanted on three warrants for an armed robbery that took place at 1633 Babington Way on Tuesday around 10:15 p.m.

On Jan. 22, police conducted a search for Vanderhorst in the area of Rifle Range and Venning roads in Mt. Pleasant, but was unable to find him.

A release states Vanderhorst had been out on bond for a June 2013 armed robbery at the Bank of America ATM located at 1929 Hwy 17 North.
