Suspect sought in Summerville coffee shop armed robbery

Summerville police are investigating the Monday evening armed robbery of a coffee shop on Old Trolley Road.

Police were called out to Biggby Coffee on February 3 just before 9 p.m. in reference to a reported armed robbery.

An incident report states a suspect entered the store with a brown shotgun or rifle and demanded money from the registers. After forcing employees to empty out two registers into a white pillowcase, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police say a K-9 tracked the suspect's scent from a nearby Ace Hardware towards Martin's Creek apartments, before losing the scent.

While tracking in the area of Ace Hardware, officials say they found a black ski mask that was later identified as the one the suspect was wearing during the robbery.

If you have any information on this incident, call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
