Search warrant leads to arrest of 2 on gun charges

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say two women were arrested Thursday after a search warrant uncovered multiple illegally owned guns.

According to a release, officers executed a search warrant at 4847 Nesbit Street as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

While searching the home, officials say they found a .40 caliber pistol that was previously reported stolen in Charleston County. They also found a .32 caliber revolver, a 9mm pistol, and a .45 caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number.

Aisha Mitchell, 29, and Laquasia Mitchell, 32, were charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
