DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at a Summerville home early Monday morning.

Deputies say they were called to a house on Crewstwood Drive after several people said they heard gunshots in the area.

When deputies arrived, they found nine cartridge casings in the street.

A woman in the area told a deputy her home had been shot at. Investigators found several bullet holes in the front of the home as well as a bullet hole in the front driver's side door of a vehicle.

The total damage was estimated at $900.

The witnesses say they did not know why their home was targeted or who might have been behind the shooting.
