Lottery ticket worth $400k purchased in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A lottery ticket worth $400,000 was purchased in Charleston.

According to South Carolina lottery officials, a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket was purchased from Kangaroo Express at 897 Folly Road in Charleston for Saturday evening's drawing, and matched all five numbers drawn to win $400,000.

The ticket holder "Powered-Up" for an additional $1, to see the $100,000 top prize multiplied to $400,000.

The numbers are 12, 14, 21, 27 and 32, with the Power-Up number 4.

Officials released the following release on Monday.

A Coastal lottery player could be $400,000 richer today and might not even know it.  

A Palmetto Cash 5 ticket purchased from Kangaroo Express #3356 at 897 Folly Road in Charleston for Saturday evening's drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win $400,000. The ticket holder "Powered-Up" for an additional $1, to see the $100,000 top prize multiplied to $400,000.

More than 4,000 Palmetto Cash 5 players won prizes from $1 up to $400,000 in Saturday's drawing.  More than 2,300 players spent an extra $1 to purchase the Power-Up multiplier and will have their winnings multiplied by four when claimed. The odds of winning $400,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 4,015,536.
