WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - A North Charleston man was arrested for armed robbery after taking two containers of laundry detergent, according to police.
Charleston Police were called to the CVS Pharmacy on Ashley River Road after an employee said a man wearing a full camouflage jumpsuit tried to conceal two containers of Tide Pods laundry detergent inside his jumpsuit.
After being told to pay for the items, the suspect said he had a gun with him. The suspect also told an employee he had a knife and motioned towards a pocket of his jumpsuit.
Police later caught up with the suspect while he was sitting on the porch of a home next to the CVS.
A police report identifies the suspect as Laprince Lawson Jr.
Lawson was arrested and charged with armed robbery by knife.
The detergent was recovered.
