WADMALAW ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County investigators have arrested a 33-year-old man accused of stabbing his father following an argument over money.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office charged Michael Latroy Mack with attempted murder.
Mack's arrest stems from an early Saturday morning incident at a home on Dunwell Road on Wadmalaw Island where deputies responded in reference to a stabbing between a father and son.
Authorities say while deputies were responding to the scene, they were told the suspect called to report the incident.
When investigators arrived on scene, they found the 56-year-old victim sitting in a chair with a blood soaked shirt. A report states that the victim had a wound to his chest.
The victim's wife said that her son had stabbed the victim and left the area. According to the witness, the suspect took the knife with him when he left.
The witness also told investigators that she didn't see the actual assault, but saw her son with a knife in his hand. According to the witness, the incident stemmed from an argument over money.
Emergency crews transported the victim to the hospital.
