NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators with the North Charleston Police Department are continuing to investigate a shooting that left a man injured Monday evening.
A police report released on Tuesday states the incident started around 5:39 p.m. when an officer responded to a 1910 E. Montague Ave. for a shooting.
The officers said he found the victim who said that he had been shot several times, but refused to say who shot him and where the shooting took place. Police say they saw a gunshot wound to the victim's forearm and abdomen.
A witness said he heard two gunshots and saw a man running towards Morningside Street, and saw the victim run towards E. Montague Market. Another witness reported hearing several gunshots and saw multiple people running.
A third witness told investigators that the incident took place at an address on E. Montague Avenue, and the suspect was still in the area. Police say they found a subject in the area and transported him for further questioning.
According to investigators, police found several drops of what appeared to blood in the parking lot of 1912 E. Montague Ave.
Police say the 21-year-old victim was transported to MUSC for treatment.
