JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - James Island Charter High School was on lockdown around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning after reports of shots fired in the area.
Principal Rich Gordon says classroom doors were locked, but classes continued as normal.
Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis says a caller reported hearing shots near the Bayview Soccer Complex. Officers checked the area and nothing was found.
He says the school was put on lockdown as a precaution.
