Likes best about the Lowcountry:

I love the wonderful restaurants!

Most interesting assignment:

Covered President Obama's visits to Florence, South Carolina and Columbia, South Carolina during his first bid for president. It was very interesting to see his political rise and to see how his campaign used social media to galvanize supporters. I also interviewed President Jimmy Carter in his hometown, Plains, Georgia at the city's annual downtown Christmas lighting ceremony. I will never forget that experience because it was wonderful to see President Carter in his element. He was so warm, welcoming and kind.

Most compelling interview:

While working in Columbia, I interviewed a young teen who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. We did a series of reports about his illness and how his friends and community rallied around him. Sadly, the teen did pass away, but I learned so much from doing the story. I learned that life is so precious and fleeting, and it is important to live each day like it is your last. I love to smile, remain optimistic and always treasure the small things in life. I will never forget the young man who taught me so much about life and what's really important.
