CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The reality show "Southern Charm" will be hitting your TV screens Monday night.
Bravo TV's newest reality show follows six socialites who live in Charleston, and reveals "a world of exclusivity, money and scandal that goes back generations"
Charleston native and former state treasurer Thomas Ravenel stars in the show.
The show is scheduled to debut Monday at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
In January the show's trailer was released, and we asked what people thought of the show's premise.
"I think they're going for the most stereotypical aspect of Charleston," said Ben Sullivan, Charleston resident. "I think there's a lot more to this city than what's going to be on the show."
From the trailer, episodes of Southern Charm promise to be full of love, money and scandal.
"I don't think Charlestonians are that vapid," said Sullivan. "That's not a good representation."
"Charleston has a lot of different parts but that's just not my style," said Darren Whitaker, Charleston resident.
"I will not be in the background of any episode of that I'm pretty sure," said Sullivan.
One thing most agreed one was that the publicity isn't all bad.
"I still would like to see it, it looks like a lot of fun, everybody is having fun," said Whitaker.
"The city looks really pretty," said Jesse McCommon, College of Charleston student.
Whether it's a hit or not, it's gotten the City of Charleston talking.
"We have to wait and see," said Brynn McMahan, College of Charleston student.
McMahan, along with some of her fellow classmates, say they'll definitely be tuning in to check it out.
"It looked like a good show, just not for me," said Whitaker.
