JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - The public has a chance to find out about future development plans for fast-growing James Island near Charleston.
Charleston County Council member Joe Qualey is scheduled to hold the meeting Friday and has invited South Carolina House state Rep. Peter McCoy, Charleston planning director Tim Keane and Town of James Island councilmembers.
James Island includes both incorporated areas of the City of Charleston as well as the Town of James Island.
Qualey says the meeting is to let everyone who lives on the island know what development is planned long before it occurs and to allow people to express their opinions on such development.
