CHARLESTON, SC -

James Miglin's two-run single capped a ninth-inning Toledo rally in a 3-2 win over Charleston Southern in Sunday's series finale at CSU Ballpark.

The Bucs fall to 12-5 overall, while Toledo improves to 5-8.

The Rockets overcame a CSU run in the bottom of the eighth to rally from a one-run deficit in their final at-bat. Four singles, the first two of which didn't leave the infield, came at the right time for the Rockets. The big blow was Miglan's, who single to left off of Bucs' reliever Austin Weekley (LP, 2-1) plated the game's final two runs.

The loss overshadowed the best start of the season for Andrew Tomasovich. He struck out five and walked one in 8.1 innings of work. After giving up an RBI double in the fourth, he retired 14 straight batters.

The Bucs trailed for the first time in the series in their final at-bat. Toledo second baseman Nate Langhals' diving stop in the hole on a would-be single from Nate Blanchard kept the Bucs from forcing extra innings with the tying run. CSU executed well in the ninth as Andrew Widell singled and moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Will Hartsell.

CSU's Chase Shelton carried the Bucs offensively. He hit his first home run of the season in the third off of Caleb Shillace to give CSU a 1-0 lead.

Toledo knotted the game in the top of the of the fourth as Deion Tansel reached on a slow-rolling infield single to short. The Rockets tied the game on their next swing, an RBI double from Dan Zuchowski.

Shelton came through again in the eighth, doubling just inside the bag at first to score Alex Tomasovich and give the Bucs a 2-1 lead heading to the ninth.

Shelton finished 2-for-3 with both CSU RBI. Blanchard added a 2-for-4 day and had a hit taken away on the game's final out.

Tansel was 2-for-4 with a run scored and was the only Rocket with multiple hits.

Charleston Southern returns home on Tuesday to host USC Upstate. First pitch is at 6 p.m. at CSU Ballpark.
