NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Dorchester County deputies are investigating reports of an early morning shootout at a club on Dorchester Road over the weekend that left two people injured.
An incident report states a shootout between two men and three security guards took place Sunday around 1:56 a.m. at Club Rehab, located at 8484 Dorchester Road.
According to the security guards, they began searching the club's parking lot with their guns drawn after hearing multiple gunshots outside the club. Once outside, they saw two people standing next to a Chrysler 300, with one of the men holding a gun in their hand.
After the gunman refused to put his gun down, the report states the security guards opened fire, striking both men and the vehicle. A club window was also shattered, but officers say they are unsure if it was a result of the gunfire.
Deputies say the gunman was found on the ground with a large amount of blood under him, and was transported to MUSC. The other man who was by the vehicle at the time of the shooting had a bullet graze wound to his leg, but refused medical treatment.
North Charleston Police Department assisted in responding to the incident.
Deputies say they are investigating the shooting, and have no further comment at this time.
