GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a 27-year-old pregnant woman was thrown to the floor during an armed home invasion in Goose Creek Monday afternoon.
On Monday at 4:09 p.m., Goose Creek police officers responded to a home on Jackson Street in reference to a home invasion.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, said she was sitting on the couch with a 3-year-old child watching television when she heard the back door being kicked in.
The victim said a man came into the home, pointed a gun at her and said,"Where's the check, where's my money."
According to a police report, the victim threw a purse at him and said she did not have any money. Authorities say the suspect then made the victim put the child on the sofa, and told the victim to go upstairs.
When the victim returned downstairs, the suspect was gone and the child was still sitting on the sofa. The victim reported that she could not tell if the suspect took anything or where he went after he left the home.
The victim also told police she was pregnant, and was thrown to the floor at some point during the incident.
The victim said that she had never seen the suspect before who she described as a tall black male with a beard, wearing an earring in each ear. The suspect was also wearing blue jeans and a light blue shirt, according the victim.
Police say they found the rear door of the home had been forced open.
A K-9 unit track led investigators to the rear of the complex to the back of Truman Drive and ended in a parking lot. Investigators say the subject possibly left the area in a car.
Authorities say the victim declined transport to the hospital, and had her mother take her to Trident Hospital for evaluation.
