CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department is investigating after an 8-year-old girl found a bullet on her school bus.
On Tuesday morning, police spoke to a 63-year-old man who said his daughter, who attends Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School, found a bullet on her school bus.
The father said her daughter was riding the bus when she discovered the bullet on her seat.
Authorities say the daughter took the bullet from the bus and gave it to her father.
A police report described the bullet as a green and orange 7.62 x 39 caliber cartridge with the letters HMC on the bottom.
CPD, the Charleston County School District and the bus company are investigating.
