BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County School District has reversed its decision to use Memorial Day as a make-up day for students. The decision was made at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting.
Officials passed a motion to move the previously approved Memorial Day make-up day to June 2.
Another motion was passed Tuesday night to make May 29 a full instructional day for high school students, while making May 30 a full instructional day for all students.
The make-up days have been added after schools canceled multiple days of classes earlier this year due to severe winter weather.
Officials say an updated version of the revised calendar will be posted on the district website Wednesday.
