CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Charleston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a vehicle of interest that was photographed in the area of a $15,000 trailer theft.

Police say a trailer containing $15,000 worth of tools was stolen from a jobsite at 139 St. Phillip Street earlier this month. The trailer has St. Pierre Construction markings on its sides.

Authorities say an older model GMC 1500 extended cab was photographed in the area of the theft. The truck has a silver toolbox in its bed, and partial numbers from the license tag are either 174 or 474, police say.

Charleston police say the person driving the vehicle is a person of interest.

If you have any information on this vehicle, Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
