CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - With the Cooper River Bridge run less than a month away, police spoke about the security for this year's event.

On Friday, police from Mount Pleasant, Charleston and North Charleston spoke to the media about some of the security measures that will be in place for this year's race.

Those taking part in the run as well as spectators should expect to see an increased police presence not only on race day, but also events leading up to the race.

Those events include the expo at the convention center and the kids run at Hampton Park.

The 37th annual bridge run is set for Saturday, April 5.
