CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a 36-year-old man has been arrested after he was spotted masturbating in front of an all-girls school on both Monday and Tuesday mornings.
Bryan Mack was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony indecent exposure, congregating for unlawful purpose, and assault on a police officer.
An incident report states officers were called out to 172 Rutledge Avenue in front of Ashley Hall School on Tuesday around 7:18 a.m. in reference to a man masturbating on a sidewalk across the street from the school.
Mack was spotted by officers who were already in the area due to a similar incident being reported the day before. Police say Mack attempted to run after being told to not move, but was quickly detained.
According to a court affidavit, Mack was also the suspect who was observed masturbating in front of Ashley Hall School on Monday morning.
In that incident, officials say a woman called police around 7:32 a.m. after Mack was seen masturbating directly across from the school. Mack fled the scene, but was captured on surveillance cameras.
Police say due to the time, location, and type of exposure involved in both incidents, as well as investigators finding the clothes from Monday's event in Mack's vehicle, they were able to charge Mack for Monday's incident as well.
Mack is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center on a $20,262 bond.
These two incident mark the second time this month police have responded to an incident outside Ashley Hall School.
Authorities say 50-year-old Quinton Richardson sexually harassed students who were walking to school from an off campus parking lot on March 6 around 7:50 a.m. A report states Richardson whispered sexually suggestive remarks to one student, and attempted to grab another.
Richardson was arrested and charged with felony stalking. He is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
