CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A James Island man has been sentenced to life in prison in the 2012 shooting death of a man on Wadmalaw Island.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kevin Lamar Howard was convicted of murder, kidnapping and burglary on Wednesday in Charleston.
Prosecutors say he killed his cousin, 24-year-old Adrian L. Lyles Jr. of Charleston, whom he had called a "snitch."
Twenty-two-year-old Broderick William Seay Jr. of Charleston was arrested last week and charged with murder. Police say Seay had been with Howard when police arrested him during a traffic stop in Summerville two years ago.
Witnesses testified that Howard and another man abducted Lyles from his apartment. Lyles body was found the next day on a remote road on Wadmalaw Island.
Investigators say Lyles had been shot 10 times.
