NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the North Charleston Police Department say a man who was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at an apartment had been playing with a gun before a witness heard a gunshot.
Shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to 7360 Stall Road at the S&K Apartments in reference to a man with a gunshot wound. Police say the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness told investigators that the victim had reportedly been drinking all night and playing with a gun during that time. According to the witness, this continued during the morning hours when at some point the witness reported hearing a loud bang.
The victim was found lying on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound.
The incident remains under investigation by the police department.
