CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The local chapter of the NAACP and other community leaders will come together Monday to speak out about school bus safety and service concerns.
NAACP President Dot Scott, Rep. Wendell Gilliard, and Charleston school bus drivers will be attendance at tonight's school board meeting, which will take place at 5:15 p.m. at the Charleston County School District office at 75 Calhoun Street.
According to a release, drivers will raise safety and service concerns with Durham School Services, including bus overcrowding, breakdowns, and cleanliness issues. Drivers are also expected to share their personal experiences and examples of their concerns.
Durham School Services is the transportation contractor for Charleston County schools.
