Forbes: Dawn Staley is 20th greatest leader in the world

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Gamecocks women's basketball team may be coming back to South Carolina without an NCAA championship, but the honors are still coming for head coach Dawn Staley.

According to Forbes Magazine, Staley, 43, is the 20th greatest leader in the world. Yes, the entire world.

Staley finds herself tied with fellow basketball coaches Mike Krzyzewski from Duke and Gregg Popovich from the San Antonio Spurs.

"The former WNBA star initially didn't want to coach," says the magazine. "But as Staley noted at her induction into the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, she knew she made the right decision when, 'I started to care more about my players than to win.' That might be the common trait of the great ones."
