DD2: Student arrested for bringing gun to school

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Fort Dorchester High School student was arrested Friday for bringing a gun to school, according to a spokesperson with Dorchester District 2.

The student had an unloaded gun in his pocket during gym class, according to district spokesperson Pat Raynor. A classmate saw the gun when it fell from his pocket and immediately reported it to a teacher, Raynor said.

The gun was confiscated and the student was taken into custody by law enforcement.

North Charleston Police are investigating the incident.
