A North Charleston man is charged with one count of obstruction of justice in connection with a downtown robbery.
Charleston Police say 20-year-old Darrian Mitchell provided investigators with false information in an effort to mislead the investigation.
The robbery occurred on April 4 at Chalmers St. and State St. at 11:45 p.m., during which the victim's iPhone and bag he was carrying was stolen, according to Charleston Police Spokesman Charles Francis.
The false statements made involved Mitchell's whereabouts before and after the robbery as well as his association with the robbers during the time frame of the robbery, police say.
Mitchell was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
