CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A judge set bond Thursday for a suspect in a pistol-whipping incident, police say.
Timothy Rachaard Thompson received a $25,000 bond in connection with a charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, court documents state.
Police say that at approximately 9 p.m. on April 16, in the area of 38 Hagood Avenue, Thompson struck the victim several times in the head with a handgun. They say he then threatened to shoot the victim and that he fired in the victim's direction as the victim fled.
Thompson surrendered to Charleston Police Wednesday night, according to Police Spokesman Charles Francis.
