CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are searching for a man they say used stolen credit cards to purchase several items.
Dexter Lamont Jones, 37, is wanted for eight counts of financial transaction credit card fraud and one count of receiving stolen goods/property crime enhancement, police say.
The credit cards were reported stolen on April 6 from a Meeting Street apartment, according to a police report. The victim told police that fraudulent activity on her stolen cards ranged in price from $2.05 to $53.17, the report states.
At one of the locations where fraudulent purchases were made, the investigating officer reported that surveillance video showed the offender, whom the officer recognized as Jones, attempted to use multiple credit and debit cards, which he splayed out "like a deck of cards," the report states.
Anyone with information about Jones' whereabouts should contact the Charleston Police Department at (843) 743-7200 and ask for the on-call detective or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
