CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police say they have charged a second Johns Island man in a pair of armed robberies that occurred within minutes of each other in March.
Antonio Orlando Simmons, 31, is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center, according to Charleston Police Spokesman Charles Francis.
Police say the first armed robbery occurred at about 10 p.m. at the CVS Pharmacy at 1739 Maybank Highway. Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the pharmacy and demanded the clerk give them cash from the register, the incident report states.
The second robbery occurred minutes later at Barbaritos Southwestern Grille, police say, where the two men also demanded cash from the register.
Police charged Feraud DaShaun Lemon, 24, with two counts of armed robbery on Wednesday in connection with the incidents, Francis said. Lemon was also being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center, Francis said.
