CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man wanted by Charleston police for pistol-whipping a person in the head several times has turned himself in, according to authorities.
Officials say Timothy Thompson turned himself in at Charleston police headquarters on Lockwood Blvd. Wednesday night. He was wanted for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature
Police say Thompson was involved in an assault in the area of 38 Hagood Avenue on April 16 around 9 p.m. During the incident, Thompson reportedly struck the victim in the head multiple times with a pistol, threatened to shoot him, and then fired shots towards the victim as he ran away.
Thompson is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
