The three hour event encouraged people to walk, not only today but everyday. The goal was to encourage participants to make a pledge to walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. The benefits of exercise are immense and with music, fun and free food, hundreds took their first steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina held events in Greenville and Columbia, as well. More than 2,000 participated last year and organizers are hopeful this year's evnet brought more walkers.
