CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A block party to support creative arts in the Charleston community will return to the Avondale Business District this Sunday.
Charleston Art Outdoor Initiative and Gallery (chART) will host its 4th Annual Neighborhood Arts Festival on Sunday, April 27 from noon to 6 p.m. in Alycia Alley behind Gene's Haufbrau and The Roost. The creative arts festival will also spill over into the nearby parking lots.
This free street party will feature live music, performances, and artwork from local entertainers, designers and artists. There will also be food and drinks available for purchase from food trucks, vendors, and surrounding businesses.
A creative live art project consisting of several paintings that will be pieced together to create one large collaborative work will be going on throughout the event with help from Artist & Craftsman. chART Aid will be accepting donations in the form of new or leftover paint, which will be used for the live art project.
"We want to serve as community art catalysts and create and inspire the public to activate the artists within themselves," said Geoff Richardson, founder of the chART Outdoor Gallery and Initiative.
