Police identify suspects in Northwoods Mall armed robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police have identified two people wanted for an armed robbery at Northwoods Mall.

Investigators are looking for 23-year-old Rasheda Mamie Joyner and 26-year-old Christopher Joseph Bauknight.

The two are wanted for a Tuesday night incident at the Piercing Pagoda at Northwoods Mall. The victim, an employee at the kiosk, reported that it all started when she was helping a man and woman shop for jewelry.

At one point the woman left and the man continued to shop. According to the victim, the man seemed nervous and kept wiping sweat off his hand onto his pants.

Police say when the victim asked the man to return five pieces of jewelry he was holding, the suspect lifted his shirt and showed a gun to the victim.

Authorities say the suspect told the victim not to scream, and left the mall. Witnesses told officers that the suspect got into a dark colored Toyota with tinted windows. According to the witnesses, a female was driving the vehicle.

A police report states the victim was able to recognize the suspect due the fact that he and the woman frequented the business often.

Detectives say they were able to identify Bauknight as the male suspect.
