ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office say they have arrested a 22-year-old fugitive wanted in connection to several home burglaries.
Investigators arrested Marcus Goodwin of Bowman Tuesday night. The sheriff's office and the U.S. Marshal Task Force were searching for Goodwin who was wanted for several home burglaries in Orangeburg.
Authorities arrested Goodwin after he was found in a passenger seat of an SUV that was driven by 41-year-old Christopher Corbitt, who was also arrested.
According to an incident report, deputies found nearly 40 grams of crack cocaine in Corbitt's pants, and a pistol in the console of his vehicle.
The sheriff's office says Goodwin is the third person to be arrested in connection to several burglaries in Orangeburg beginning in March 2014.
"We have located jewelry, clothing, laptops, televisions and guns," Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said earlier this month. The belongings were recovered when deputies executed a search warrant two weeks ago, according to the sheriff's office.
Officials with the sheriff's office say 21-year-old Daniel Goodwin Jr. and 20-year-old D'erio Dyaha Mack were also arrested on April 17 for the home burglaries. Mack is out on bond, while Daniel Goodwin is in custody.
