Narcotics charges filed against robbery suspect, siblings

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man arrested for a March strong armed robbery and two of his siblings face narcotics charges, according to the Charleston Police Department.

Police say Monterio Brown, 21; his brother, Jermane Julius Givens, Jr., 19; and their sister, Tanesha Quilann Fields, 23, all of Charleston, are each charged with trafficking marijuana, distribution of a controlled substance within close proximity of a school and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Police say they confiscated 25 pounds of marijuana, $14,290 in cash and a handgun during the execution of a search warrant at Brown's apartment by detectives and members of the Special Investigations Unit. The search was part of the ongoing investigation into a March 19 strong armed robbery on Magazine street for which Brown was previously charged, according to Charleston Police Spokesman Charles Francis.

The three were being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center, according to a police report.
