BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office say two employees were not injured after someone fired several shots at a store following a dispute Wednesday night.
It all started at 6:10 p.m. when deputies responded to 996 Kinloch Road in Dale for a report of shots fired.
When authorities arrived they learned that two men had been involved in a verbal and physical altercation. According to a report, Torrion Cooper attempted to strike the victim with a metal tool. The victim then defended himself by using a folding pocket knife which he used to slash the suspect in his back.
The victim said as he was attempting to leave in his car, someone fired several rounds at his vehicle from the roadway. One round struck the victim's vehicle, while several rounds struck a store at the incident location.
Deputies report that there were two employees inside the store, but no one was injured.
The sheriff's office says they are continuing the investigation.
