Summerville High students take 3rd place in state film contest

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Three Summerville High School students are being recognized in a statewide film competition.

The film “Tag” made by Isaiah Schmidt, Dannion Hollar and Jack Haze won third place in a contest run by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism, and Trident Technical College.

Each film had to be between 30 seconds and 2:00 minutes, and it had to be filmed in a state park. Judges rated each one on creativity, quality and production value, and strength of story. The top 10 finalists were then put to a public vote on YouTube.

The students shot their two-minute-long film "Tag" at the Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site in Summerville.

Winners were given cash prizes and trophies, and their films were screened at last month’s Charleston International Film Festival.
