CHARLESTON, SC -

The Charleston RiverDogs have come up with a promotion that fans of both the South Carolina Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers can get behind. The ballclub has announced former Tigers quarterback Tajh Boyd and linebacker Quandon Christian, as well as former Gamecocks wide receiver and point guard Bruce Ellington, will be in attendance for RiverDogs baseball this weekend at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Saturday both Boyd and Christian are scheduled to appear at The Joe, and Sunday it’s Ellington’s turn.

Boyd and Christian will mingle with fans and pose for pictures adjacent to the Riley Park Press Box inside the stadium at the top of the seating bowl on the third base side on Doby’s Deck from 5-5:45pm. On Sunday, Ellington will do the same from 4-4:45pm. Boyd, Christian, and Ellington will not sign autographs during this time.

There will be a 90-minute private meet and greet that starts at the time of the first pitch on both Saturday and Sunday in a private location in the ballpark. There are a limited number of VIP tickets available for the meet and greet for $40 each. The meet and greet will include a ticket to the RiverDogs game that night, plus the opportunity for VIP ticketholders to obtain an autograph from the players on one item. Light refreshments will also be provided.

Fans must purchase tickets for the meet and greet over the phone by calling Michael DeAntonio in the RiverDogs front office at 843/723-7241, or in-person at the Riley Park Box Office. Meet and greet tickets are not available online. The box office is open for the duration of tonight’s RiverDogs game, and will reopen at 10am on Saturday. Saturday’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:05pm, and Sunday’s game is slated to begin at 5:05pm.

In addition, Boyd and Christian will each throw out ceremonial first pitches prior to Saturday’s game, and Ellington will toss the ceremonial first pitch on Sunday.

The three also have autograph signings at The Fan Zone in North Charleston throughout the weekend. Boyd and Christian are signing Friday from 5-7 and Saturday from 12-2pm. Ellington will sign Sunday from 12-3pm.

The RiverDogs are home all weekend through Monday, May 5 against the Delmarva Shorebirds. For tickets and more information, please contact the RiverDogs Box Office at 843/723-7241 or online at www.riverdogs.com.
