North Charleston police continue investigation into bar shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Authorities in North Charleston are continuing to investigate a shooting that happened Saturday night at Willie's Bar and Grill on Dorchester Road.

Police say just after 12 a.m. a fight started in the bathroom which had spilled outside. A police report states after club security escorted two suspects outside, one of the suspects got a gun from his vehicle and began firing shots at people.

According to investigators, suspect hit at least two people with gunfire. Authorities say both of the victims had gunshot wounds to their thighs.

A third victim suffered scrapes during the incident.

NCPD officials say a security officer on scene returned fire as the suspect fled the scene.

Officers recovered five 9mm shell casings from the front door of the business. Additionally, investigators found that a vehicle in the area had been damaged, with a its rear passenger window broken, two bullet holes in the rear passenger door and a bullet hole in the roof the vehicle.

Police are continuing the investigation.

No word on a description of the suspect at this time.
