ISLE OF PALMS, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the 22-year-old who died Wednesday afternoon shortly after being pulled from the water at Isle of Palms.
According to the coroner's office, Jermaine Choice, of North Charleston, died as a result of drowning following an incident in the area of Palms Boulevard at Beachside Drive at 2 p.m.
Isle of Palms fire officials say two bystanders rescued the man and performed CPR on him.
Charleston County EMS Director Don Lundy said the man was in critical condition when he was transported by EMS to the hospital.
According to Lundy, the man was alive when he got to the hospital.
