Charleston investigators searching for possible witnesses in King Street homicide

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators in Charleston are looking for an SUV whose occupants may have witnessed a homicide in downtown last week.

On Friday afternoon, officials with the Charleston Police Department released pictures of a dark colored, smaller sized SUV that was captured on surveillance.

Authorities say they have no reason to believe the occupants in the vehicle were involved in the incident, but may have seen something in connection to a fatal shooting.

CPD officials say on May 8, 59-year-old Ronald Robinson of Charleston was fatally shot on 943 King Street at 11:14 p.m. Police say people outside the location flagged down the responding officer and said a man had been shot inside the residence.

Investigators were on the scene into the morning and police say the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on should call Consolidated Dispatch at 743-7200 and ask for the on-call CPD detective or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
