Dorchester Co. to hold public forum for upcoming elections

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The public will have an opportunity tonight to hear State House and Dorchester County Council candidates speak on election issues. Seats are up for election in House District 94 and 98, and Dorchester County Council Districts 2 and 7.

Primaries are set for June 10, but tonight, voters will be able to grill the candidates on key issues. The forum will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers at Town Hall, located at 200 S. Main Street.

The race for State House District 94 includes incumbent Jenny Horne, republican Evan Guthrie, and republican Franklin Smith.

Republican Larry Hargett is challenging republican Chris Murphy for the State House District 98 seat.

For Dorchester County Council District 2, incumbent David Chinnis is running against republican Scott A. Inabinet, and the District 7 race features incumbent Jay Byars against republican Lester Dempsey.

Monday night's forum is expected to last two hours.
