SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville police are investigating after nine cars were broken into Tuesday night in The Bridges subdivision.
Authorities were called out to The Bridges subdivision just before 7 a.m. after receiving reports that several cars parked along Creek Bend Drive and Burton Avenue were broken into. Each of the victims told police their vehicles were left unlocked overnight.
The nine cars are from a total of six homes, reports state.
Police say that while all nine vehicles appeared to have been rummaged through, not all had items missing.
According to the reports, a laptop stolen out of one of the vehicles on Creek Bend Drive was found on a neighbor's driveway, and an iPod and pills stolen out of another car were left in their neighbor's grass. Stolen items that were not recovered include a debit card, cologne, and a GPS.
Police say they were able to lift prints off the broken into vehicles, and they are investigating.
