CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a 34-year-old North Charleston man wanted on narcotics charges had drugs in his possession when he was arrested earlier this week.
Charleston police say Niram Phoenix had 6.5 grams of cocaine and 3.7 grams of cocaine base in his possession when he was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 13 in the area of Athens Court and Romney Street.
According to a release, four warrants for the distribution of cocaine were issued for Phoenix in October 2013 during an investigation into drug activity in the 100 block of Romney Street.
In addition to his four warrants, Phoenix was also charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of cocaine base with the intent to distribute. His bond was set at $450,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
