MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - Hundreds of images of child pornography were allegedly found on a Memphis man's computer and phone.

Jerry Nance, 44, has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.

It is a crime police have been investigating for a few weeks and on Saturday night Nance is locked up at 201 Poplar, after he admitted to police that he downloaded sexually explicit photos of children.

On May 7, police received a complaint about Nance after he allegedly sent explicit images of children via email.

"It's such a shame the community or the city has to put up with such a person, low life," said Wanda Pounders.

A search of his computer found more than 100 images of children, some as young as 7 years old. His cell phone also contained images of children as young as 2 years old being sexually assaulted by men.

Neighbors say he was recently married, has a 10-year-old son, and was a member of the military.

WMC Action News 5 knocked on Nance's door at the 800 block of South Yates Street, but his wife did not want to comment and quickly shut the door.

Nance remains in jail, his bond set at $100,000. He is set to appear in court Monday morning.
