Early-morning fire shuts down Chesterfield McDonald's

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Fire crews from Chesterfield said that a McDonald's had to shut down operations on Monday after an early-morning kitchen fire.

Flames broke out at the store in the 9200 block of Midlothian Turnpike, near North Pinetta Drive around 4 a.m. Several employees were inside of the restaurant at the time and quickly evacuated, according to Chesterfield Fire crews.

The fire was contained to the fryer area in the kitchen.

No one was hurt, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
